Spring Profit News Story
MacDermid Enthone Industrial Solutions has supported surface treatment specialists, Spring Profit Plating Works, in securing approval for a range of specifications and chemistry from automotive manufacturer, General Motors (GM). Following a stringent audit process, the Taiwan-based company has been certified to provide ZinKlad 250, 1000 and 1000B performance coatings for GM fastener parts. A GM project team was formed in early 2016, with Spring Profit collaborating closely with MacDermid Enthone to improve procedures ahead of the audit. Factors such as on-line operations, lab calibration and control plans were all taken into consideration when planning for the assessment. MacDermid Enthone reviewed standard operating procedures (SOPs), offered training at its advanced application laboratory, and helped Spring Profit put in place strategic action plans, to ensure the conditions met with GM’s thorough requirements.
Following months of preparation, Spring Profit achieved OEM certification on 29th June 2017, enabling it to provide three ZinKlad specifications for GM parts:
• GMW 3044
• GMW 4700 Type B
• GMW 16730
